This version is a lot easier. Like Battletoads (J).

I'll see if I can do some cheevo balancing to make the set compatible with both. It's the original game, it should be playable.

Please handle updates where you might be affecting the difficulty of a set (even for other versions) as a revision.

That's the plan. Just gotta figure out the best way to do it first.

J is very different from U. In the J version there are fewer enemies, more useful improvements (container filling is different) and an infinite number of continues. It's similar to Castlevania 3, which J and U versions is completely unequal in difficulty. Also first comment on game page says 'Use the (U) rom version.' I didn't even think the J version was linked to this set.

It's true that the Japanese version is easier and is not bugged like the American of Battletoads, but I believe that it would help beginners in this game, even using password you not win any achievement of the previous stage, always been attentive to this, however what strikes me most is again see someone wanting to impose and compel everyone to play in a unique way, someone who can not even finish the game.

I can finished this game, actually I already mastered it using only U version. I don't see any problem in using U version. This set was created for this version in mind and author mention this in first comment on game wall. Despite this, some players have used J version for some reason. This site is retro achievements. Achievement is not the search for the easiest way with only one goal - to get points. Achievement is the fulfillment of the test that the author came up with for the players. But this is obviously not at all the case for people whose goal is only to accumulate points.

In fact I know this game well enough to finish without using any continue in all versions, so it was not a big problem to unlock all the challenges in the American version, except this was absolutely the only one I did in Japanese, but if you agree with a dictator system you must be very happy about decisions of this kind.

I know this is a long shot, but I wanted to post it here just for consideration whenever this set gets reworked/revisioned.

As stated in the post above the Japanese version of this game is vastly easier than the US version. But thanks to https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/570/ it essentially puts the US and Japanese version on an even playing field.

I don't know if it would be better to give the Japanese and Patched US version its own set or make the Patched version the "Main" ROM for this set. Biggest problem is, that it would break all the other translated versions.

Again I am just posting this here for coverage in case anyone didn't know about the Patched US version.
