I'll pull it out on the real hardware and try to come up with some ideas.

seems that "Beginners Point Awards" doesn't pop , scored over 50.000 points no chievo.

Seeing as two people got it, maybe you're not using a compatible version. Are you using the USA version?

Hey entrax, there might be an issue with this whole title - this one is the (J) version that it's verified for, but even so I'm still not convinced it will work properly - if you press escape, does it show all the possible achievements?

hey i did use the (J) and indeed it shows all the 4 chievos in the list as the other roms they wont show the chievos

I tried another rom set from the No-Intro set :

R-Type (USA) : doesnt work as it doesnt show the chievo list
R-Type Part-1 (Japan) doesnt work but it shows the complete chievo list.

Wait it's coded for the J version? The one missing half the game?

i also tried the tai sang version of the jap rom , but its not the good rom either

This has been my issue so far...I've been trying to get the achievements to even show up but I'm guessing I had the wrong version of the game?

Edit: I got the right version of the rom now, scored two of the achievements, but the points one is definitely bugged. I easily broke the 5k it shows in the home display, and broke the 50k that I am assuming (?) it is supposed to be, and saw nothing.

Hi all - there are quite a few issues with the PCE emulator at the moment unfortunately, including having to load the rom at least twice at the start, issues with the overlay, issues with the toolset and others - r-type especially has version/release variations that have suffered ram inspection badly, and we're still investigating the effects. Apologies for now, I'll be back with an update asap

Are you kidding me? The very fact hat it exists at all and is a foot in the door here is super boss already :D

Take your time, it'll be done when it's done, no sooner. There's still plenty for us to do in the meantime ;)

Something is wrong with the dumps of the games you mean? Are you using the two part version of Rtype?

Hi all,

Here's some information on the different versions of R-Type on PCE.

The game was originally released in Japan across two HuCards, R-Type part 1 and R-Type part 2. This means that when you see a HuCard that is titled "R-Type II" (with a pic of stage 5 on the cover), that is not the second game in the series, it is the second half of the first game. There is no official Japanese HuCard with the full game.

The North American version combined both halves onto one HuCard, simply titled "R-Type". This is the full game.

Later in Japan, they released a CD version of the full game, with added cutscenes and remixed CD music. This is titled "R-Type Complete".
